Covid-19 Measures
In response to the facts of public knowledge, and in an effort to contribute to minimise the spread of the COVID-19, the Association’s Board of Directors have decided to follow the precautionary and social isolation measures established by our national government. Therefore, with effect from 16/03/2020 all Association on-site activities have been suspended until further notice from the government that the pandemic situation has been controlled and that social activities can be resumed. We understand that it is our responsibility to collaborate to ensure everyone’s health and safety, especially that of our Members.
Nevertheless, in order to fulfill our aim of promoting, fostering, teaching and developing our cultural and social activities; the band, the dance corps and our kids group are reorganising themselves virtually, using different online platforms and tools available to continue rehearsing, teaching and learning.
Declaration of Cultural Interest
On June 27th, 2019, the Parliament of the City of Buenos Aires declared the activities carried out by the South American Piping Association of ‘Cultural Interest’ for the City of Buenos Aires.
As 2019 was an electoral year, the diploma ceremony could not be held at the Parliament. However, we were very pleased to announce and celebrate this event at the “SAPA’s Annual Cèilidh” on August 31st, 2019, which was held at the Centro Asturiano de Buenos Aires, in company of our families, friends and followers.
After more than 50 years of history promoting Scottish culture and traditions, we are very proud of this recognition and encourages us to continue working hard on our project.
